A gas-oxygen tuyere is a component of a modern electric arc furnace responsible for supplying process gases into the metal melting zone. Operating under extreme temperatures and in an aggressive environment, it requires maximum reliability and efficient heat removal.
The tuyere is installed in a water-cooled jacket to protect it from high temperatures. It is water-cooled and has separate systems to supply oxygen for combustion and purification, natural gas lines, and cooling water inlet and outlet lines
